Following centuries of political fragmentation and division during the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, rulers of the Qin and Han dynasties forged the first unified China in history. Featuring over 100 pieces (sets) of precious relics from Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum, Hanyangling Museum and Shaanxi Academy of Archaeology (Shaanxi Archaeology Museum), including the terracotta army of Qin Shihuangdi, architectural components of the capital cities of Qin and Han, as well as the warrior and animal figurines of Emperor Jing of Han, this exhibition showcases the development of politics, economy, culture, technology and cross-border transportation during the Qin and Han dynasties. This exhibition is the second programme of the General History of China Series.
